DESIGNER APPLICATION
Africa Fashion Week ATLANTA (AFWA) strives to support designers, primarily through event management of fashion shows, catwalk displays, workshops and showcase events. Not only does this provide the opportunity for the world to explore new and exciting fashion, but also allows designers to express their creativity within a professionally produced event environment.
WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS FOR AFRICA FASHION WEEK ATLANTA (AFWA) IS OPEN. THE APPLICATION WINDOW CLOSES ON SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2024 AT 10 PM EST. ALL APPLICANTS MUST FULFILL THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.
COLLECTION
The collection should be a latest reveal and not seen previously at another event.
Runway showcases should include not less than 15 looks.
Presentation showcase should include not less than 6 looks. Any look spotted as a duplicate or like another designer’s creation would result in dismissing the Maison from the official calendar.
DESIGNER APPLICATION RULES
Have a Women’s or Men’s Ready-to-Wear or Couture collection.
Your collection must be new, a show stopper and runway worthy.
Be established in the fashion industry for more than three (3) years with retail or stockist history.
Be able to produce a line sheet and look book 20 days before the show.
If designers wish to sell their collection on a “See-Now Buy-Now” basis, they should have the collection in stock or be able to produce the order in less than two (2) weeks.
The cost to showcase at AFWA Runway and schedule listing fees are dependent on your turnover and type of activation. A Designer Application Kit will be shared with the different costing and vendor fees. Please do enquire for further details after you've received the kit.
